Politics (Did I Mention I’m Angry?)

I try to stay away from political ranting in this little corner of my life. So depending on you, you may want to refrain from reading further or clicking links. Ok, I warned you! Read ahead at your own risk.

I feel like I’ve had my head in the sand—I’ve recently found this blog, and I feel like my eyes have been opened. Now I’m just angry at everything. Angry at the possibility of my rights being taken away. Angry at why THESE THINGS aren’t common knowledge. Angry at hypocrisy, racism, and homophobia in general. Angry that I wasn’t angry before. Angry that more people aren’t as angry as I am and that their lack of anger may cause the thing which may ease the anger to slip through our fingers.

Ok…done. Had to do it.

One more thing…please feel free to leave a comment either way…really. Crappy, yelling-at-me comments will, however, be deleted.

**Postscript: since I haven't gotten any hate mail YET, I thought I'd vent a little more about anti-semitism/hypocrisy...and did I mention hypocrisy? If not, just in case…**

Get angry and talk to everyone you can! I am glad people are finding out, anger, outrange, disbelief is what this country needs right now otherwise we are in for another 4 years of what we have been dealing with for 8!

I hope that everyone demands a change, this is the time, people cant stand still any longer.

Great job getting your voice out there!

I believe we can get Obama into office!

I'm so, so glad that I'm not the only one who is outraged by this campaign. I fully mean that - I'm OUTRAGED. In fact, I've been losing sleep over it. I don't understand why people can't see what is so clear. I pride myself on being able to put myself in the position of others in order to understand their points of view, but this is one area where I simply can't understand. I see no reason to vote McCain/Palin; I can only see how their policies will hurt us.

Okay, I should stop. There is so much to say. I just hope that the American people realize how much smarter we are than this, and how much better we can do.

I love how Palin is against sex education, and her 17 year old, unwed daughter got knocked up. IROONNNYYYYYY.

Umm, trust me, you don't want to know what I think of your candidate.

But I'm curious, why are you so quick to believe everything that you read? Does it ever occur to you that it may not be true... that the media is lying to you? Come on!

I'm sorry, I have another question... why are you liberals so quick to tear down rather than build up. Why can't you be FOR your candidate and not so occupied with being against the opponent?
Rather than being so "angry" and "outraged"... why don't you expend your energy by explaining why I should consider your candidate. I don't ever hear what he's all about... it's always about the country needing a change.
Tell me what he's ever done to make me believe he is the one to make that change!

I appreciate the comment. I really do. As for the lies, I'm all about the issues, Linda. These issues are things that you and I will never see eye to eye on as I am pro-choice, anti-war, and pro gay marriage. I will go on to say that before I believe anything secondary, I always research the answer. As far as tearing down the opponent, that's simply the nature of politics-- both parties are guilty. The fact that McCain doesn't know how to use a computer (he admitted so), that he cheated on his ex-wife with his current wife (in his book), and the fact that I firmly believe he would not have chosen Mrs. Palin had he known further in advance about her daughter's pregnancy are just icing on the cake. Anything would be better than status quo at this point, and the fact that I adore the Democratic candidate is just a bonus.

Let's look at another angle- Obama's message has filled me with a hope for this country that I haven't felt in 8 long, long, LONG years. He makes me feel like there is a person that actually cares about the people of this country, not the political fatcats and lobbyists.

All Palin's speech did last night is to solidify my belief on Obama, and encouraged me to sign up to a be an Obama volunteer first thing this morning, and it's up to us to do everything we can to help bring him into office.
