It's Pop, Dammit!

Ryan and I have been confusing our daughter. Not like we even let her drink it, but he calls it soda, I call it pop. Let's see what everyone else calls it:

And I thought my dad was the only one who would say something like, "Let's go get a Coke." And he was raised in Michigan! Hmmmmmm. Yes, this is what I do all day with my time. I can't put much more effort into it. My brain is dead.

Strange that half of Wisconsin and half of Illinois say "soda". Actually it's not so strange for Illinois because downstate is pretty much the south and there is no accounting for what they call things in the south ;-).

I hate to have to disagree with one of my girls, but I stand firm on this one...it's soda. A pop is what your Granddad gives you on your behind for misbehaving!

You should be able to read the map now. I had linked the pic originally, but somehow it didn't work when I first published. Hope it works now...! :)

I grew up in Ill. and we all called it pop...there was one person I recall calling it soda and then someone else calling it sody pop. When I moved West it was all soda & I had a really hard time switching to that word so I just said coke (my choice of drink)...but, also some called it soft drinks as in what to bring lists for parties.

I call it soda. A lot of people around here call it tonic though...
